Muslim trader shot dead in Pangasinan
SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan, September 4 -- A Muslim trader, who was in the priority target list of the San Carlos City police, was shot dead by unidentified motorcycling riding suspects at about 8:05 p.m. of Friday in Barangay Palaris here, the San Carlos City police said.
The victim was identified as Barry Ungcar, 58, native of Barangay Balindong, Lanao del Sur, but residing at Pagsolingan Subdivision in Barangay Palaris, this city.
He was on board his own motorcycle and was about to turn left going to his residence at Pagsolingan Subdivision when motorcycle-riding criminals tailed him, then shot him several times.
Ungcar sustained a single gunshot wound in the neck and was rushed to Virgin Milagrosa Medical Center for treatment, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Meanwhile, another person was shot dead by unidentified motorcycling-riding suspects along the national highway in Barangay Alipangpang, Pozorrubio at about 4:25 p.m. Friday.
The victim was identified as Ramon Cabida, 47, of Barangay Canarvacanan, Binalonan, who was about to ride on his motorcycle when he was shot several times by two unidentified male persons riding on a motorcycle.
The victim was brought to the Pozorrubio Community Hospital by responding police officers for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. (PNA)
