2 Lanao, 1 Iligan PNP officials sacked
Two Lanao del Norte and one Iligan City police officials were among 12 chiefs of police from various provinces in Northern Mindanao who were relieved of their duties for their poor performance in implementing the Project Double Barrel or the anti-illegal drugs program of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Information Agency regional office reported.
Northern Mindanao Regional Director Police Chief Supt. Noel Constantino said the chiefs of police of Cabanglasan and Kalilangan towns in Bukidnon; Villanueva, Magsaysay and Lagonglong in Misamis Oriental; Jimenez, Concepcion and Don Victoriano Chiongbian in Misamis Occidental; Pantar and Tangcal in Lanao del Norte; and Station 3 in Iligan City were relieved effective Monday, September 5.
"They were evaluated as to their performance output including drug personality list generation, household visitations, search warrants implemented, arrest warrants served, filing of drug cases in court and other police operations conducted. Unfortunately, they were at the bottom and so we need to replace them to give way to officers who have the drive to perform better," he said.
"They will be replaced and will serve the provincial police office (PPO) or city police office (CPO) as staff officers for not less than one year probation period," he added.
The officers underwent two months of performance assessment, report evaluation, validation, consultation and recommendation from the Project Double Barrel Oversight Committee.
Meanwhile, Northern Mindanao Provincial Police spokesperson, Supt. Surki SereƱas, said that there will also be a reshuffling of provincial and city directors by the end of the month. (TNRS with story from PIA X)
