(Late but worthwhile) Shooting incident in Magsaysay, LdN reported
MAGSAYSAY, Lanao del Norte – A police report indicated that about 8:50 in the evening of May 22, 2016, a shooting incident transpired at Purok Rizal, Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay, victimizing one Ruel Jamora Y Torres, 35 years old, married, and resident of Purok Magsaysay, Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay and a certain Medalya Barat, 50 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Munai, Lanao del Norte.
The report added that responding PNP personnel of MPS led by PINSP Jan Ver M. Dianopra, OIC, arrived at the crime scene and found a lifeless body identified as Ruel Jamora also known as “Amading” and a person between life and death identified as Medalya Barat who was rushed immediately to the hospital but declared dead on arrival by the attending physician at the Provincial Hospital, Baroy, Lanao del Norte.
The report added that initial investigation conducted disclosed that the victim Ruel Jamora was shot to death at behind by an unidentified suspect using probably Cal. 45 pistol as evidenced by eight (8) pieces recovered fired cartridge cases of Cal. 45 while said victim was betting in card games at the local joint known as Peryahan at Purok Rizal, Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay. On the other hand, the victim, Medalya Barat, who was standing in front of the victim Ruel Jamora, watching the games was accidentally hit by bullet at his stomach. Victim Ruel Jamora sustained multiple gunshot wounds at the different parts of his body resulted to his instantaneous death.
The report said that the cadaver of the victim Ruel Jamora was then brought by his immediate family at his residential house at Purolk Magsaysay, Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay and likewise the cadaver of the victim, Medalya Barat was also brought by his relatives at Purok Saripadel, Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay, while the unidentified suspect fled away like the scared civilians running in the different directions of the crime scene. The police report submitted to PSSupt. Madid Paitao, provincial director of the Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office, was signed by Jan Ver M. Dianopra, police inspector.
The shooting incident took place one day before the Araw Ng Magsaysay precluding the municipality from celebrating the occasion on May 23, 2016 with full blow activities because of the untimely death of two innocent civilians. PP/TNRS
