DepEd ARMM holds orientation of its newly hired teachers in Lanao del Sur

MARAWI CITY - The Division of Lanao del Sur 1 of the Department of Education conducted last Wednesday (June 8) an orientation of the newly hired teachers in the schools division to prepare them for their teaching jobs.
The one day orientation was held at the Provincial Social Hall, Capitol Complex, Marawi City.
Schools Division Superintendent Normillah Sumigay R. Pangandaman, Ph. D. gave the welcome address and opening remarks as she introduced the key officials of the schools division.
Topics of the orientation include: Getting Started as Teachers discussed by Soraida B. Noor, Ph. D., ASDS-Seconday; Roles and Responsibilities discussed by Sahanee M. Sumagayan, Ph. D., ASDS-Elementary; CSC Rules and Regulations under the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers discussed by Dr. Macapagal P. Camama, Administrative Officer V; Membership in government offices such as the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Pag-ibig, and PhilHealth and similar offices discussed by Mohammadali M. Basher, Administrative Officer V; Information on PPSTA discussed by Nasser C. Dibansa, President, LDS1APSTA; EDEIS and LIS discussed by Sobair B. Dicasaran, Planning Officer 11; and K to 12 Program discussed by EPS Noraida P. Mecampong, K to 12 Coordinator.
AO Camama discussed government policies relating to teachers, Civil Service Rules and Regulations, and Salient Provisions of RA 4670 otherwise known as the Magna Carta of Teachers. He defined teachers to include not only those handling classes in schools but also librarians and those performing supervisory and administrative functions in public schools.
The orientation was attended by some 143 newly hired teachers, 37 district supervisors, 58 school principals, and 35 school division officials.
The program started off with a Qur’an Reading by Ustaj Jahfar Arumpac followed by the singing of the Pambansang Awit and ARMM Hymn led by EPS Jamira P. Sarip, and ended up with a closing remarks by Schools Division Superintendent Pangandaman. EPS Noraida P. Mecampong ably served as master of ceremony. The new Ranao star
