Pursuant to the said resolution a Special Election Registration Board (ERB) conducted a validation hearing here last Tuesday.
Mayoralty candidate former Ambassador to Oman and retired PNP General Acmad Omar told the Press that he appreciated the action of the COMELEC.
He said that he wants all fictitious registered voters removed from the Voters Registration Record of this municipality because he wants a clean and honest election.
He added that the monkeys and the wild pig in the mountains must not be allowed to vote in his municipality.
As of 12 noon, that day, only 10% of the questioned records had been validated.
A member of the Board told newsmen that most of the questioned registered voters did not appear.
One appeared but refused to validate the registration because, the name was his, but the picture and the Biometric data do not belong to him, said the Board.
Before Media left the COMELEC Office, the validation was far from over, but the Board said that they will submit a report based only on what it could finish on that day.
Mayor Hairone Omar told Media that the registrants were not fictitious and they had been voting in the past elections.
He said that most of them are employed or are engaged in business in other places and they will come home to vote on Election Day.
He said that on behalf of the questioned Voters, they might file a case before the proper court in the right time.
Mayor Omar is the youngest brother of Former Ambassador Acmad Omar, a candidate for Mayor in the forthcoming May 9, Elections.
In deference to his elder brother, Mayor Omar is not running for reelection.
He said, however, that due to popular demand, his wife has filed her Certificate of Candidacy as Mayor in the forthcoming election.
