Games that Lawyers Play
By playing games some lawyers mislead their unknowing clients who will eventually fall in jeopardy.
Litigants assured by their lawyers that they will win the case would never suspect that in the end they would suffer.
Hence, it is important that litigants should use their common sense to determine whether or not a legal battle is worth fighting for.
Logic and truth rules everything. No matter what the lawyers do, truth will prevail in the end.
When a person is charged of an offense, the best thing for him to do is examine his conscience.
If he really committed the crime, his only chance is for his lawyer to be able to impeach the credibility of the witnesses against him and create reasonable doubt in the mind of the Court.
However, that would be difficult and costly. No matter how his lawyers employ delaying tactics the painful truth will soon prevail over everything.
I remember one lawyer who always encourage people especially in popular cases to go to Court and he is ready to help. But when the case falls out from public attention, the client runs out of money and the sailing gets rough, the lawyer begins to find alibis for being unavailable until he leaves the case completely or he advises the client to agree to an amicable settlement.
Before the Court of Justice the accused would meditate and look deep into his conscience. Although remorse may be late, his lawyer may find some mitigating circumstances that could lighten the penalty.
Delaying tactics would only prolong the agony.
