CRUZ LEFT P253.435 MILLION IN SENDONG FUNDS TO REGENCIA

Former Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz left P253.435,983.04 of Sendong donations in the City Coffers when he stepped down from Office in 2013 and newly-elected Mayor Celso G. Regencia succeeded him.
OIC City Accountant Raymundo E. Clavano certified last January 22, 2016 that the said amount was the total of 8 accounts recorded by his Office.

The certification stated that P11,870,150.00 remained of the P11,870,150.00 donated for “Cash For Work;”

P219,538,283.00 remained of the P24,130,000.00 Shelter Assistance (from DSWD);

P186,720 remained of the P1,000.000 Rehabilitation & Enhancement of Iligan Water Facilities affected by Typhoon Sendong (Vicente Varf Belmonte) OR# 4197011 – January 24, 2012;

P20,290.00 remained of the P2,000,000 Endowment Fund for Typhoon Sendong, Victims Indigent/Charity Patients –GTLMH (Philippine Charity Sweepstakes) OR# 4197026 – January 25, 2012;

P20,284,031.40 remained of the P60,000,000 Infrastructure Roads and Bridges;

P1,286,859.67 remained of the P54,000,000 Relief and Rehabilitation/Financial Assistance of Flood Survivors of Typhoon Sendong, (Burial/Funeral/Food/Medical/Hospital Bills of patients admitted or confined because of related injury/sickness) & etc.; and

P249,648.12 remained of the P14,293,653.00 intended for Repair Rehabilitation of Water System (DBP-0820-028891-030).

According to the Certification, as of December 31,2015, P197,010,416.59 remained of the P219,538,283.00 for Shelter Assistance; P186,720.85 remained of the Rehabilitation & Enhancement of Iligan Waterworks affected by typhoon Sendong (Vicente Varf Belmonte) OR# 4197026 – January 24, 2012; P9,951,624,36 remained of the P20,284,031 Infrastructure Roads and Bridges; P965,097.83 remained of the P1,286,859.67 Relief and Rehabilitation/Financial Assistance of Flood Survivors Typhoon Sendong (Burial, Funeral, Food/Medical/Medicines/Hospital Bills of patients admitted or confined because of related injury/sickness) & etc; and P249,648.12 remained of the P249,648.12 in Repair Rehabilitation of Water System all of which were left by Cruz to his successor.

The Certification issued by Clavano shows that of the funds left by Cruz, those intended for Rehabilitation & Enhancement of Iligan Water Facilities affected by Typhoon Sendong from Vicente Varf Belmonte (P186,720.85 and Repair and Rehabilitation of Water System (P249,648.12) remained untouched as of December 31, 2015.
