Provincial Workers bring Christmas gifts to mental patients

Tubod, Lanao del Norte – More than 40 employees of the provincial government of Lanao del Norte personally delivered their Christmas presents to patients of Happy Home Mental Health Center in Maramag town, Bukidnon on December 21, 2015.

The provincial employees belonged to the Provincial Community Affairs Office (PCAO), Provincial Information Office (PIO), and Project Management Office headed by Lyndon Calica.

“This is our simple way of celebrating Christmas and helping the least among us. Despite their condition they still need to feel the spirit of Christmas”, said Calica.

This is the second time that the group visited the mental facility to distribute their Christmas gifts.

To raise funds for their trip to Happy Home Foundation, Inc. and buy food and gifts for the patients, the employees did some Christmas caroling in the capital town of Tubod and nearby municipalities.

During the short program at the health center, the patients were entertained by the PGLDN band and dance presentations by select employees. The patients also joined in the parlor games facilitated by leaders of the group.

“We are blessed that despite the distance from Lanao del Norte to Bukidnon, you came here for our brothers and sisters who are in dire need of emotional support. I thank the Lord for having you all again here in our center, especially to Lyndon and Liza Calica”, expressed the Happy Home Administrator Sr. Nieves.

For her part, 1st District Congresswoman Imelda Dimaporo also donated bath soaps, while PGLDN officials gave cash donations.

After the gift-giving activity, the provincial employees then proceeded to Mt. Moriah, World Harvest Ministry, in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon for their Christmas party.

The program was also witnessed by the Foundation nuns, staff nurses and watchers.
