Provincial Director McMillan A. Lucman of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Lanao del Sur disclosed recently that the DILG Lanao del Sur is implementing the mandates of the Office which are focused on Local Government Supervision, Community Building and Performance Monitoring.
Provincial Director Lucman said that DILG Lanao del Sur has already completed the Seminars on Budget Preparation in all barangays in Lanao del Sur. He said the barangays in the municipalities that failed to attend the regular Seminar on Budget Preparation were given the opportunity to attend by conducting a special seminar on budget preparation. He said the barangay officials should be trained to prepare their budget so that the Internal Revenue Allocation (IRA) for the barangays will be properly spent with maximum utilization. He stressed that the IRA is for the people of the barangay and therefore the budget must be used wisely to benefit, not a few people, but the entire community members in the barangay. He said the barangay officials should be educated on the maximum use of funds for personal services, development fund, gender and development, general development and the disaster risk reduction and management fund or the so-called calamity fund.
Provincial Director Lucman also said that the provincial office, together with the regional office has already inspected completed infrastructure projects under the PAMANA program for 2014 consisting mainly of roads and buildings. He said water projects are under the Salintubig program. He said the completed PAMANA projects had already been turned over to the beneficiary organizations or entities. He said the list of PAMANA and SALINTUBIG projects in Lanao will be provided the media as soon as all reports from the municipal level have been submitted.
Provincial Director Lucman said that the latest information the office received from higher authorities relates to the reshuffling of personnel in the municipal level in connection with the forthcoming 2016 elections.
