ILIGAN CITY - The Department of Labor and Employment of Lanao del Norte (DOLE) in partnership with the Office of the Lone Congressional District of Iligan City distributed livelihood checks to 44 associations last September 24.
Congressman Vicente D. Belmonte, Jr. told newsmen that the project was called “DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Program-Livelihood Assistance” that is being implemented in partnership with his Office.
He distributed the checks to 44 livelihood associations with a total odf 1,114 beneficiaries earlier identified under the Livelihood Funding Assistance of DOLE-Lanao del Norte Provincial Office through a grant amounting to P1.8 Million of his congressional office.
According to Belmonte the joint program aims to help generate the capital build-up for the association, promote entrepreneurial skills and capabilities of members and provide other livelihood needs/ materials of the association.
A simple turn-over ceremony was held at the Congressional office in Palao.
