FIRST NATIVE FILIPINO SONGS CHORAL TILT HELD

The first ever choral competition in Iligan, featuring native Filipino songs, was held, September 25 at St. Michael’s College Auditorium inside the SMC campus along Quezon Avenue, this City.

According to a report of the City Information Office, the said event was participated by 10 groups from Iligan City and St. Vincent Parish Choir of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte.

The list of contestants include the following: San Pedro Chorale – Purok 1, Pala-o, Iligan City; Vox Dei – Corpus Christi Parish Choir and Mercy Community Hospital Chapel Choir; Musika Munde – Alumni of ICENHS, Sta. Filomena, Iligan City; ICENHS Singing Ambassadors – Students of ICENHS, Sta. Filomena, Iligan City; ICNHS Faculty Chorale – ICNHS Teachers; ICNHS Youth Choir – ICNHS Students; Alay Himig Choir – St. Vincent Parish Choir, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte; Los Voces – MSU IIT Octava Alumni; SCS Ambassadors – MSU IIT School of Computer Studies; SMC Chorale – Resident Choir of St. Michael’s College; and SMC G-Clef Chorale – Resident Choir of St. Michael’s College Basic Education.

Admission of the general public to the venue was free.

As of press time, the result of the contest was not yet available.
