RMG hosts inter-high friendship games for a better Masiu
MASIU, Lanao del Sur, September 20 — A down-to-earth personality but hailing from noble clans in this municipality is making waves as he undertakes several programs aimed to uplift the socio-economic condition of his people.
On Sunday, soft-spoken Engr. Romil Mitmug Guiling, opened and led an inter-high school friendly games of all high schools located in the municipality of Masiu with a theme, “Bridging The Gap Among and Between The Society, The Leader, And Youth of Masiu Through Sports, Music, Arts And Culture."
MASIU, Lanao del Sur, September 20 —Engr. ROMIL MITMUG GUILING led the three-day RMG’s Inter-High School Friendship Games held in a family-owned resort at Buntalis Village, Buadimalaoi here.
The RMG Resort was inaugurated too at the same time.
Sultan RPK Arsad Marohombsar, Lanao del Sur vice governor was guest speaker. He was represented by Atty. Jamaloden Abuat.
Other dignitaries also graced the occasion. These included Pharidah L. Sansarona, assistant schools division superintendent of Marawi City; State Regional Prosecutor Ramil Guiling and others.
There were ten competing schools in the friendship game, namely:
1. Lacoto Ayaon Memorial National High School;
2. Masiu Science and Technology High School;
3. Mindanao State University-Masiu Community High School;
4. Moh’d Qabael National High School;
5. Pangandaman Provincial Science National High School;
6. Sittie Amanie Mo’d Kiram National High School;
7. Sultan Alimudin Memorial National High School;
8. Sultan Labay Moriatao Bae Technical Vocational School;
9. Sultan Macalawi National High School; and
10. Unda Memorial National Agricultural School.
Civic organizations also participated in the activity. Among others are:
1. Masiu Phagampong Eagles Club;
2. Samahang Magdalao, Masiu Chapter; and
Kuya Romil, as Guiling was fondly called being president of the Masiu Phangampong Eagles Club, welcomed all the guests and participants.
In his message, he said he founded the four-day sport activity from September 20 to 23 for the sake of our youth.
“Here, they can have more friends and learn discipline,” Kuya Romil said.
He said:
“Pag sinabing laro, may mananalo at matatalo, Kung ano man maging desisyon ng mga referees at namamahala, ito ay dpat nating tanggapin.
“At wag natin kalimutan na ang mga kabataan ay pag asa ng bayan.
“Magsamasama tayo. Magkakapatid tayo, Magkakaibigan tayo, for the sake of MASIU.”
On her part, Superintendent Sansarona said she is happy for the program of her brother, Mayor Ramil Guiling where our youth can promote friendship among themselves and acquire more friends.
Sansarona said:
“Ang masasabi ko sa inyo mga bata ay ang sportmanship ay mahalaga sa atin. don natin malalaman ang mga bagay kung saan titibay ang ating samahan at pakikipag mabutihan sa kapwa natin.
“Umaasa ako na sa apat na araw ng event na ito, ay matatagpuan natin ang kamaganak, kaibigan at pamiliya natin.
“At nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong pagdalo at pagpunta.”
She ended her message by praising the present Masiu administration, saying, “Alam natin na ang MASIU ay may magandang administration.“
Atty. Abuat who represented the Guest Speaker Vice Governor Maruhombsar said he would like to “my gratitude and thanks to our Mayor Romil Guiling, who invited me in this event.”
Abuat said:
“Natutuwa po ako sa pagpunta dito dahil nakita ko ang mga kamag-anak ko na matagal kong di nakikita.
“Pati mga professor ko noon.
“Sumasang ayon ako sa sinabi ni sir na ang sportsmanship ay hindi lang pakikipaglaban. Kung baga bugbugan kong sino man ang matumba.
“Sportmanship ay para matoto tayong tanggapin kong ano man ang maging desisyon, Win or Lose.
“This event is for the High School to understand how Sportsmanship is important, whether you win or lose, you will accept the decision.
“This game is to enhance also the ability of students in sports and also to realize how Friendship is important to us.
“Sportsmanship is a way being strong and to gain self-confidence and especially to have friendship.” TNRS
