2,400 SACKS OF RICE GIVEN TO LANAO DEL NORTE MUSLIMS

Tubod, Lanao del Norte – More than 2,400 sacks of rice were distributed by the Lanao del Norte provincial government through its Provincial Community Affairs Office (PCAO) to mosques in different towns of this fast-rising province.

It was learned that the rice assistance program is a joint initiative of the provincial government and the 1st Congressional District of Lanao del Norte.

The report from the Provincial Public Information Office stated that the sacks of rice were received by the Imam of each mosque along with two packs of dates.

Every Muslim shall receive 2.5 kilos of rice each, the report added.

“We wish to thank Governor Khalid Dimaporo and Congresswoman Angging Dimaporo for their assistance to all Muslims here in the province especially during the holy month of Ramadhan”, expressed the Imam of Barangay Kakai Renabor mosque, this municipality.

According to the report, the rice distribution activity started on June 2015 to end July 17, 2015 during the ‘Eid’l Fitr’ or “Feast of Breaking the Fast”.

The report added that the annual rice distribution project is part of the Dimaporo Initiative program that seeks to support activities of both Muslims and Christians in Lanao del Norte as a way of strengthening the bond between the two groups.
