ROTARY CLUB TURNS OVER EDUCATIONAL GRANTS TO 25 SUAREZ NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUD

ILIGAN CITY - The Rotary Club of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA, in partnership with Rotary Club of Iligan Ma. Christina, awarded and turned over Educational Grants to 25 students of Suarez National High School last November 12, 2014.
School Principal and Rotarian Dr. Rosemarie Ann M. Saavedra, Ph. D. told Media that this was the second year that students of the said school received this grant.
The recipients were Concored de Vincent Torion, Mark Anthony Hinayan, Iol Genelaco,Roy Languido, Johnday Ponsica, Christian Anthony Bado, Mariel Jean Saylaran, Rea Balucan, Sweet Michaela Darac, Patricia Anne Laput, Rica Mae Cordero, Miraflor Blanco, Antoniette Jean Rabago, Ivy Dumaguing, Cheer Abigail Dacula, Angelle Rose Mission, Trixy Jhene Gonzalez, Alondra Suires, Mae Hyzint Faith Padayhag, Angelica Sumayang, Wellexa Brian, Chrisialyn Cubillado, Anjanette Vargas and Jessa Calua.
The grants consisted of school uniforms, shoes, socks, bags, school supplies and cash for payment of miscellaneous school fees.
Saavedra said that the Rotary Club of Maria Cristina, Iligan, reached this partnership program with the Rotary Club of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA, through her efforts.
She added that she hopes more students will benefit from the said educational grant next year.
“We are not asking you to give us higher grades, but instead, we encourage you to study hard so as to benefit of this program until graduation,” Saavedra said in her message to the student beneficiaries.
She also asked the parents to, “accompany their children along the way.”
