Please stop torturing Marawi - Macatanong

Superintendent Bae Mona Macatanong of the schools division of the Islamic City of Marawi appealed to ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman and the DepEd-ARMM to stop torturing the people of Marawi even as she revealed that the present mess in Marawi City Division of Schools is the burdening intervention of the region.
Macatanong aired the appeal in her opening and welcome message during the opening day of the 2014 Palarong Marawi held at the Division Quadrangle in Kilala, Angoyao. Marawi City recently.
With a theme, “Capacity Building in Sports: Key to Competence and Well Rounded Personality,” the Palarong Lungsod ng Marawi was graced by Assemblyman Majul U. Gandamra of the Regional Legislative Assembly (RLA) of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) as its Keynote Speaker.
Guests and observers told The New Ranao Star that the event was successful.
It was believed that around 50 thousand pupils, students and teachers participated in the street parade as estimated when they paraded in to the Division Quadrangle.
The Sportsfest success has endowed favourable impetus to Macatanong, in that she has proven once again that no amount of odd can bend her stand and the cause she fights for.
It may be recalled that Macatanong has been sailing in rough waters from the time of then Acting ARMM Regional Governor now Congressman Ansaruddin “Hooky” A. Adiong and until the present Hataman’s administration.
Macatanong ran to the Court to seek justice when the DEPED ARMM under Adiong stripped her off the official functions inherent to the Office of the Schools Division superintendent by detailing her to the regional office.
When Hataman was appointed by Malacanang as ARMM OIC-Regional Governor, she was returned to the division.
This year, she had to go to the Civil Service and the Hall of Justice again when DEPED ARMM tried on imposing upon her a compulsory retirement due to age issue.
The CSC in a resolution found no irregularity in the age issue. Even the Court turned the tide in her favor by issuing a restraining order against the imposed retirement.
But Macatanong is still in hard up for the division operation. While she got those court orders, the DEPED ARMM continues withholding the division’s MOOE.
Macatanong expressed her gratitude to the local government of the Islamic city of Marawi under the leadership of Mayor Sultan Fahad Pre Salic for supporting her.
She also thanked the DepEd Family in Marawi City for believing In her leadership and supporting her as city superintendent of schools.
