Lanao del Norte Provincial Health Office wins regional award anew
TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) is this year’s recipient of an award of recognition as ‘Best Provincial Health Office’ for Philippine Integrated Disease Surveillance Response (PIDSR).
This is the second time that the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lanao del Norte is being recognized for its exemplary performance in the reporting of deadly communicable diseases, the same award the province has received last year.
PHO Lanao del Norte is also declared as the 2014 Best LGU Functionality (Provincial Category) for its continued dedication and prompt reporting of Event-based Surveillance and Response (ESR).
The awards were given during the Department of Health’s 2-day Regional Consultative Forum held at Chali Beach Resort, Cugman, Cagayan De Oro City in October 2014.
The forum was attended by health personnel from the 110 government and private hospitals operating in five provinces and nine cities of Region 10 that provide weekly report to the Regional Epidemiological Surveillance Disease and Response Unit (RESDRU).
RESDRU is actively strengthening its policies and procedures in the reporting of dangerous and communicable diseases within the regional level of the Department of Health.
