True to the Maranao culture on cordiality and generosity, Marawi City schools division headed by its Schools Division Superintendent Mona A. Macatanong did a good job on the way they welcomed guests and participants coming from various parts of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) in last month’s PALARONG ARMMAA 2014 held February 10-15 at the Mindanao State University Sports Complex here.

This corner personally observed four of the district supervisors who billeted in their respective turfs participating delegations from other ARMM schools divisions who attended the Palaro..
The district supervisors were Bae Anisah Guro of Central District, Dr. Sadrodin M. Diron of North District, Dr. Roca Jalillah Dimal of East District, and Hadja Faydah Pecson Barodi of West District.

SUPERVISOR GURO

With the active cooperation and support of her principals and teachers in the schools under her district, as well as the community, Supervisor Guro made a warm welcome to the more than 200 delegates coming from TawiTawi Division in the evening they arrived at the Central School where they were to be billeted.

The guests were entertained with kulntang and served with pat sangkad a dulang and dinner-packs to the guests.

The guests were accompanied to the central district by DepEd-ARMM technical officials led by Dr. Taya Aplal, Superintendent Macatanong, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Zenaida Unte Alonto, Mass Media Coordinator Normina M. Guro, BSP Coordinator Suoervisor Bedaria Corot and other division supervisors.

SUPERVISOR DIRON

In the case of North District which hosted delegates from Lamitan City in Basilan province, Supervisor Diron did also a commendable job in billeting his guests.
Schools principals, teachers, parents and the entire community in the North District extended strong cooperation in welcoming the guests.
Among preparations made were the putting up of eight comfort rooms which were provided with top running water with faucets, drums as water reservoirs and supported by temporary drainage flowing to the road main drainage — all for the convenience of the guests.

SUPERVISOR DIMAL

Supervisor Dimal of East District did an equally good job in welcoming the guests coming the Basilan schools division whom she was tasked to billet.

Dr. Dimal and her schools principals, parents and community leaders spent sleepless night in waiting for the guests from Basilan aboard eight big buses who arrived at the district central school midnight.

Dimal and her group accorded too a superb treatment to them. They provided officials of the delegation with beds made of nickels with soft foamed beds and pillows.

They were served with Pat Sangkad a Dulang for the VIPs and full dinner packs to the rest.
The success of the billeting and accommodation of North District’s visitors was realized through the strong cooperation of all schools principals and teachers under Dimal, as well as the strong support of the parents and community leaders within the district.

Dr. Sadiarata Maruhom, school principal of Ibango Central Elementary School had done a wonderful job especially in leading her fellow schools principals and teachers to a meeting for the preparation.
Also worthy of mention who did a good job was Ms. Jehanne Maryhom, Kinder 2 Teacher of the central school.

SUPERVISOR BARODI

The West District could not be left behind in doing preparation for the Palarong ARMMAA 2014. Under Supervisor Hadja Faydah Pecson Barodi, it had shown a wonderful job too.

The district showed well too in quartering delegates coming from Lanao del sur schools division II.

All the schools principals under the district, community leadersand parents within the district, did a wonderful job too in accommodating the gurests they were tasked to tsake csre of for their accommodation.

From as far as Poona Marantao going to the venue of the sports fest, streamers and tarpaulins compliment of schools under her and barangay officials within her district hanged visibly along the road.
