MSU, ASA Philippines ink accord to conduct training to faculty handling peace education

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur: Geared towards becoming a national Peace University, the Mindanao State University System (MSUS) inked recently in Pasig City a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with ASA Philippines Foundation for the conduct of a faculty training to handle peace education.

MSUS President Habib W. Macaayong expressed his gratitude to Mr. Kamrul Hasan Tarafder, President and CEO of ASA for funding the training to the university faculty members who will be handling Fundamentals of Peace Education.

ASA Philippines Foundation was conceptualized by Mr. Kamrul H. Tarafder. He started work in the microfinance industry with ASA Bangladesh. In 1998, he began working jointly with ASA Bangladesh and the United Nations Development Program teaching the ASA methodology to more than 20 microfinance institutions (MFIs) in the Philippines over a span of 5 years.
