NGCP GIVES 3-ROOM SCHOOLBUILDING TO REMOTE VILLAGE

 The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) turned over a 3-classroom building to the remote Dalamas Elementary School, 19 kilometers east of this City early this week.

Engineer Avelino Dawis, Head District 2, NGCP, formally turned over the said school building to School Principal Ricardo B. Valdez, Jr.

Dawis explained that NGCP is extending assistance to committees hosting NGCP transmission lines as an expression of the Company’s social responsibility.

It was learned that two transmission lines, a 138 KVA line and a 250 KVA line pass through Barangay Pugaan and of these passes near Dalamas Elementary School.

The school building donation was accepted by School Principal Ricardo Valdez, Jr. and Iligan City Division of City Schools South District 1, Supervisor Jose S. Bagunas who also represented Division Superintendent Randolph Tortola who was not able to come.

Bagunas told the Teachers, pupils and some parents present during the occasion to to care of the school very well so that it can serve future batches of pupils in the community.

“Let us take care of the school as we take care of ourselves,” he said.

On behalf of barangay Pugaan, Barangay Captain Mares S. Yamit thanked NGCP for giving the school which they consider a very special gift of the said company to the people.

Elizabeth Ladaga, NGCP Regional Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Officer, oriented the audience on Transmission Lines Safety and Anti-Pilferage Law.

The occasion was concluded with the distribution of 300 drawing Booklets to the pupils of the school and a sumptuous lunch prepared by the stakeholders of Dalamas Elementary School. TNRS
