Moro youth coalition reaffirms support of the peace process

The Coalition of Moro Youth Movement, Inc. or most commonly known as CMYM is launching its renewed support for the Peace Process right after the formation of the expanded Bangsamoro Transition Commission.

It must be remembered that CMYM was able to collect an unprecedented Five Hundred Thousand (500,000) signatures all over the Autonomous Region on Muslim Mindanao supporting the passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law on the year 2015. However, despite the non-passage of the BBL in congress, CMYM continued its advocacy of supporting the peace process through conventions, seminars and summits among the Bangsamoro Youth.

Today, CMYM reaffirms its support for the peace process. It will present the Five Hundred Thousand (500,000) signatures it collected supporting a Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) and Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB) compliant Bangsamoro Basic Law to the newly constituted Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC).

CMYM also stressed its stand that BBL must first be passed before accommodating the agenda of Federalism. According to its present President, ATTY. SHIDIK T. ABANTAS, the passage of the BBL has long been delayed and its continued non-passage is creating animosity and impatience within the Bangsamoro regions. The BBL must not be held hostage by the discussion on Federalism.

In this regard, CMYM is calling on all the Bangsamoro people to support the mission of having a BANGSAMORO GOVERNMENT BEFORE FEDERALISM and the passage of a CAB and FAB compliant BBL before the Second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo R. Duterte. (CMYM News)
