DSWD, TESDA, MRRD officials jointly lead releasing of relief goods to Lanao del Sur towns

Distribution of relief goods in towns around the lake are being conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and towns’ respective chief executives. They are assisted by leaders in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) of the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte (MRRD) movement.

The municipalities benefitted during the distribution held Saturday were Wato-Balindong, Marantao and Lumbatan.

On Monday, the team will distribute relief goods in Saguiaran and Taraka.

Government officials who led the distribution were Virginia Orogo, DSWD national undersecretary for special concerns; Guiling Mamondiong, TESDA director general; Baelabi Zorahaida Taha, DSWD –XII regional director; Tarhata Sumayan Mapandi, TESDA Lanao del Norte provincial director; and the executive director of TESDA-ARMM.

The officials were accompanied by Lominog Lao, chair of MRRD-ARMM, and Lanao del Sur Board Member Abdulhamid Umpa Amirbitor among others.

Seven sacks of relief goods were released to every barangay, particularly to heads of the family who needy and poorest as selected based on the survey conducted by TESDA-ARMM provincial office in Lanao del Sur.

As said by USec Orogo, this is part of the program as promised by President Duterte to Mindanaoans in his COMPREHENSIVE REFORM DEVELPEMENT AGENDA where “we are comprehensively studying how Mindanao will develop with hardwork and without corruption and dishonesty.” (See related story)
