Department of Social Welfare And Development (DSWD) Field Office XII and the local government unit of this town distributed Saturday relief packs to one hundred fifty (150) families of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP's) in Barangay Tambac.

Present during the relief distribution were Department of Social Welfare and Development DSWD Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns Virginia Orogo, DSWD Region XII Assistant Regional Director Jackiya Lao and Lumbatan Municipal Mayor Allan Lao.

Each relief pack contains 10 kilos of rice, canned goods, instant noodles and coffee.

"This is not going to be the last, we will do another follow-up relief distribution," said Asec. Orogo.

According to ARD Lao, upon learning that a new set of IDP's from Sitio Mantapoli evacuated to Barangay Tambac, they immediately made an emergency relief distribution in the municipality.

Palao, 55, a farmer from Sitio Mantapoli was one of the recipients of relief packs. He said he is grateful to the local government unit for always taking care of its constituent needs.

"It is not easy to be an evacuee that is why we are very thankful to our hardworking mayor and other officials for all their support," he added.

Since their evacuation, this has been the third time that the LGU distributed relief goods to the IDP's in the said barangay.
