4600 reached in Iligan Police Anti-Drug Operations

ILIGAN CITY – 4600 individuals have been reached by the Iligan City Police Office in its implementation of President Rodrigo Duterte’s war against Drugs.

Acting City Director Leony Roy Ga, in a Security Forum organized and attended by members of civil society organizations held last September 15 at the Institute for Peace and Development Management (IPDM), MSU-IIT, disclosed that the number includes 400 drug pushers arrested, 466 drug dependents for rehabilitation while the others are either pushers or users have who surrendered but cannot be rehabilitated for lack of facilities.

Ga said that those who surrendered have pledged to stop getting involved in drugs and are now being monitored by the police, ICADAC, BADAC and other force multipliers in the war against drugs.

He also revealed that there were few pushers who were killed in shootouts with law enforcers while they are still investigating 30 murders of known drug personalities by unknown assailants.
