Sarimanok Press Club elects new officers

ILIGAN CITY: The Sarimanok Press Club (SPC) on Saturday has elected its new set of officers at the Iligan satellite office of Ranao Star Philippines (RSP). 

Renowned publisher Rocaya “Roxette” Sumndad Otical was elected new SPC president. 

Otical is the publisher of Ranao Star Philippines, the longest running newspaper published in Lanao del Sur. She had also served as the provincial media coordinator of the then ARMM’s Bureau of Public Information for Lanao del Sur. 


Other elected new officers are veteran journalist Ted Khan R. Juanite, vice president; Arafat Mortaba, secretary; Hanalee T. Yahya, treasurer; and Nancy Abdulmalik Gambao, auditor.

Also elected to the Board of Trustees are Masiding Noor Yahya, Asa T. Madale, Frank E. Dosdos, Jr., Phil Pa-alan, and Sobaida Mangorsi. The board has yet to elect from among its members their chairman. 


Founded in March 2015 in Marawi City, SPC is dubbed as finest press club in the Lanao region. 

It is composed of Muslim and non-Muslim media practitioners based in the cities of Iligan and Marawi and the provinces of Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur. (RSP)
