ILIGAN CITY: The Office of the Regional Secretary of the Department of Education of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DepEd-ARMM) denied to have issued any appointment to teachers-applicants from the province of Lanao del Sur after alleged DepEd-ARMM appointment papers are circulating in the province.

In an official statement posted online Thursday evening, the Office of DepEd-ARMM regional secretary Atty. Rasol Y. Mitmug, Jr. said the appointment documents allegedly signed by ARMM governor Mujiv Hataman and duly attested by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) are fake.

"This is to inform the public especially our teacher-applicants in Lanao del Sur that DepEd-ARMM has not released a single appointment paper in the province following the Assessment and Competency Examination for Teachers of ARMM (ACETA) held in May and June this year," the statement said.

"We are investigating the issue and will work with the proper authorities to penalize those who are circulating fake appointment papers and making profits of it," it said. The matter was already referred to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for further investigation.

The CSC is likewise informed of the existence of fake appointments in Lanao del Sur divisions and is encouraged to take appropriate actions on this matter.

The DepEd-ARMM emphasized that there is no special signing as claimed by others and no consideration either monetary or any kind is demanded by the DepEd-ARMM.

It said they are still in the process of assessment considering the number of applicants in the schools divisions of Lanao del Sur.

DepEd-ARMM will release soon the appointments of teachers which will be officially announced together with the schedule of acceptance and mass oath-taking of the new hired teachers.

The DepEd-ARMM urged everyone especially teacher-applicants to be discerining so that they will not be scammed.

It further advised those who wanted to report this kind of anomaly to contact the Action Center for Education hotline at:(64) 5520503, 09778436560, 09212993811; or armm.ace@deped.gov.ph.
