Six Marawi elementary grade learners land Dean's Lister

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur: Six young learners have landed in the Dean's Lister of Masiding Noor Yahya, acclaimed Dean of Mranaw Journalists, and founder and editor-in-chief of Ranao Star Philippines, longest running local newspaper in the Ranao Region and the only newspaper based in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.


Dean Yahya who is also the president of Sarimanok Press Club and chairman of Lanao Association of Multimedia Practitioners, Inc. (LAMP), said he had chosen the six out of around 50 elementary level students who went through exercises on writing news in English and Filipino during the Two-Day Training Workshop on Campus Journalism held at the social hall of the New Provincial Capitol Complex here last week.


Two young learners from Angoyao Central Elementary School (Sopia B. Abdulgani and Noraleah H.M. Oti, Grades 6 and 5 respectively); two from Amai Pakpak Central Elementary School (Hezam D. Balt and Hakimah Mackno, both Grade 5); one from Bae Inombao Blo Bacarat Central Elementary School (Sharief Husnie B. Tomawis, Grade VI); and one from Hadiyyah International School (Ainnah Sophia Sangba-an, Grade VI) landed the Dean's Lister.


Earlier, the list of high schools students and their respective schools within the schools division of Marawi City who were picked by Dean Yahya was announced. - RSP
