Meranao Ako organized



ILIGAN CITY: A group of Maranao independent thinkers formally organized in a fast food chain here on Saturday, July 7, 2018 the core group of Meranao Ako International Solidarity, a new movement aimed at uniting the Maranao People who are living inside and outside their homeland for their common good and welfare.



During the first organizational meeting of the Core Group approved the following among other resolutions:

1. Name: Meranao Ako International Solidarity, Inc.
2. Acronym: MERANAO AKO
3. Interim Officers: Dr. Ali B. Panda, president; Atty. Salem M. Limpao, vice president for internal affairs; Datu Pento D. Pangcatan, vice president for external affairs; Dean Masiding Noor Yahya, secretary; Judge Abdulhalim Saumay, treasurer; Pacasum O. Macacuwa, assistant treasurer; Gamal R. Tampogao, auditor; Ibra Macapanton, trustee; Asst. Dir. Mohammadali Alonto, trustee.



Elected interim chairman of the core group Dr. Panda, a renowned academician from the Mindanao State University, said that Meranao Ako Councils will be organized in different localities in the country and later to be expanded abroad wherever there are a Maranao community.

He said the idea was to foster unity and solidarity among the Bangsa Meranao irrespective of their political persuasions and economic standing after the Marawi siege which has affected the lives of the Maranaos.

Panda is inviting Maranaos living outside their homeland to please coordinate with the solidarity and be concerned and heard of the Maranao plight.
