Governor IQD concludes Lanao del Norte 59th anniversary

ILIGAN CITY: Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda 'Angging' Quibranza Dimaporo led thousands of employees and workers of the provincial government of Lanao del Norte as well as well-wishers in formally culminating the 59th celebration of the founding anniversary of the “The Land of Beauty and Bounty” on July 4, 2018.

With the support of the municipalities of the Province, mayors, vice mayors, Sangguniang bayan members and barangay officials and employees have come to show solidarity with the leadership of the Quibranza-Dimaporo in sustaining peace and development through Unity of all the constituents.

Also present in the culmination are the employees from the different national offices from the region and in the province - Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Education's Division of Lanao del Norte, the Provincial Auditor’s Office, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Public Works and Highways' 1st and 2nd Engineering Districts, Regional Trial Court - Branch 7, Commission on Elections, Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, Parole and Probation Administration Office, Public Attorney’s Office, Registry of Deeds, Philippine Information Agency, Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Philippine Health Insurance, National Food Authority, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Land Transportation Office and other partner agencies of the national government.

Governor Dimaporo personally extended her sincerest gratitude to the Municipal Mayors present at the gathering for the continuous support to her administration in delivering basic social services and most importantly in maintaining the peace and order in their respective municipalities for the good of the province and to the general populace.

“I would like to personally extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Mayors of the 22 Municipalities who have supported me throughout the years in sustaining peace in our beloved province. Without your support, it is hard to achieve where we are right now. This is our achievement. Making our beloved province progressive and develop for the good of the people of Lanao del Norte,” Governor Angging said, addressing the Mayors at the venue.

The Provincial Chief Executive was almost in tears when she points out the six municipalities that will be included in the Bangsamoro Territory.

“Our next year celebration, the 60th Araw ng Lanao del Norte could be an entirely different scenario. During the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected barangay officials, I said to the municipalities which are part of BBL, ‘Congratulations and Goodbye.’ Today’s message, I would like to say to them, “Thank you and Goodbye.”

She said: "While our two Congressmen are still working on the possibility of retaining you as part of Lanao del Norte, allow me to thank you for the support to our leadership since the time of my father. Thank you for playing an active role in making a difference in the life of our constituents. We are keeping our fingers crossed that there will be no goodbye for the six municipalities. But should the inevitable happens, we just hope and pray that you carry with you the progressive and development mindset that you have gained. Continue to work what is best for your people as we continue to work together for the best of Lanao del Norte.” 

Governor Dimaporo also thanked the Armed Forces of the Philippines through Col Robert C. Dauz, Commanding Officer of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade, LTC Ronel P. Manalo Commanding Officer of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade and LTC Anton G. Abrina, Commanding Officer of the 4th Mechanized Battalion, and the Philippine National Police under Provincial Director PSSUPT Leopoldo E. Cabanag. - with story from LDN PIO/RSP
