She said the retired teachers are not yet replaced. "Because of this, I personally hired and paid three volunteer-teachers to suffice the need for teachers since 2014 up to the present," she said.

SHORT HISTORY.

It was established in the year 1971 during the administration of former District Supervisor SULTAN MONCADO B. GURO. The establishment was a response to the demand of the populace in the area.

In school year 2008-2009, MRS MARIAM P. PANGCOGA school principal, tried her best to grant and implement the unanimous public request of the constituents to open a grade V class.

In the School Year 2013-2014, Mrs. Mariam designated her daughter, Faisanah H.Y. Naik, on November 12, 2013 as assistant Principal and on August 5, 2014 as OIC Principal.

ENROLMENT.

For the School Year 2015-2016, the school enrolment was 274 but it was decreased by 10 in the School Year 2016-2017, 132 Males and 98 Females.

But in this School Year 2017-2018, there was a tremendous increase of enrolees due to the IDP’s of Marawi Siege who sought refuge in the municipality, thus the school has had 322 enrolees.

ACCOMPLISHMENT.

Pagalamatan Elementary School received several awards and achievements.

Principal Naik said that during the Division Sports Meet, for three successive years, they got the championship in Table Tennis Boys Category A&B Double. "In SY 2014-2015," she added, "we got the Best Declaimer of the Year in the celebration of Buwan ng Wika. And, in the same School Year, yours truly, the school head was awarded as Best Teachers Performance."

Naik said the school promotion rate was also awarded as Best Teacher Performance, adding that, the school promotion rate was successfully maintained 100% for two years, while the drop rate was decreased by 0.77%.

Naik said: "...the School-Based Management Assessment Level falls under “Developing” and we got a rating of “23” from the Child-Friendly School Survey resulting as a Child-Friendly School."

CONCERNS.

Naik said:

"In every success, there is ample of hardship and obstacles, our school encountered different difficulties. Seeing these obstacle and difficulties, didn’t hinder me in exerting and doing extra activities to address those problems. Together with my teachers, PTCA and my dear partners, we do our very best to overcome the obstacle, with the support of our honorable Regional Secretary and Division Superintendent.

"As a given fact that pupil’s health and nutritional status poses a big significance to the academic performance of the learner as well as the educational status of the school, sad to say, it is found out that 33 of the school’s learners are considered wasted and severely wasted. Seeing some of my learners are wasted and severely wasted. I tried my best to be beneficiary with the FEEDING PROGRAM from DepEd ARMM under the leadership of our Honorable Secretary and Division superintendent. And, As of now, we are catering and serving our learners with food very beneficial to their health. Thus, having positive result to the learner’s health status.

"Due to the lack of learning and reading materials at school, like Science, Math, MAKABAYAN, Music and ESP, as well as no School Library, the learner’s academic development was greatly at risk and same of the Grade 3 learners (27 pupils) were in the level of frustration level when it comes to reading. Thus, I created the program named IRWAMIA for the sole purpose of improving the reading comprehension skills of the learners. I also created Spelling Bee to improve the spelling skills of the learners. Aside from that, I also envisioned our learners in achieving high-tech instructional materials by proposing the construction of school Computer Laboratory Room so that our learners will be computer literate. And, hopefully, with the approval and support of our Division superintendent may be this realized.

"Crucially, as of this time, what we are facing is the lack of school building and lack of environment conducive to learning; It is because during the SY 2016-2017, the donor of the land reclaimed ownership over the land on which the school building is constructed. The location was no longer safe and conducive to learning for it had been used as drug den by drug addict and prone to robbed and other malefactors; and, t had been become burial of the family of the donor. For the safety and welfare of the learners, we request the transfer of the school located within the same Barangay, In the new location, as approved by the higher authorities, as school head, I did my very best, as well as the teachers and stakeholders, to offer an environment conducive to learning for the welfare and goodness of our learners and to provide continuity of the learning of the learners. Out of my personal money as well as the small amount of solicited money from the good people of Saguiaran, private individuals and public officials we are able to construct 6 makeshift class rooms. Amy dedication and commitment to offer my learners a conducive to learning environment is gigantic. Difficulty in budget doesn’t stop and prevent me, thus, it pushes me to do extra wffort and to do alternative. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to earnestly request our higher authorities to support and improvement in facilities so that we can offer the BEST that our learners should have in terms of the physical facilities of the school and most importantly the BEST education that they could have.

"We, from the Pagalamatan Elementary Teaching Force, believe that teaching is a calling. We touch our learner’s lives - our future leaders and future generation - We look forward to serve them the best that we could give. Thank you and wassalam!"
