Padilla donates Php5-M to Marawi evacuees, appeals to implement Islamic microfinance

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur: Robin Padilla turned over his donation to Marawi Internally Displaced Persons on March 30, 2018 at Mindanao State University, Marawi City. 


The Php 5 million pesos donation will serve as seed capital for women IDPs whose livelihood has been hampered because of the Siege. 

“It is high time that we promote Islamic Micro Finance program in Marawi being an Islamic City,” Robin said. 



Dr. Acram Latiph, Executive Director of MSU-Institute for Peace and Development accepted the donation as the focal person in implementing the said program. 



Present in the turnover ceremony was AMIN Party List Representative Hon. Sitti Djalia A. Tubarin-Hataman who helped facilitate in the transfer of donation. 

Buklod Cooperative officers and members also attended the ceremony where they shared one of their advocacies which is to promote livelihood development among its members and the IDPs in Marawi City. 



Dr. Habib W. Macaayong, president of Mindanao State University System, was applauded by those present for his able leadership in welcoming support from various organizations and individuals to help the IDPs thrive amidst adversity. - Story and photo from MSU Fanpage/ATM/RSP
