A Basic Course on Islamic Banking and Finance to be held in CDO and KL

A BASIC TRAINING COURSE ON ISLAMIC BANKING AND FINANCE will be held on March 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18, 2018 at Mallberry Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, and final lectures and awarding of certificates at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 29, 30 & 31. 

This was revealed in an advisory to officers and members of the Philippine Association of Islamic Accountants (PAIA) and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) by Amanoding D. Esmail, PAIA president.final lectures and awarding of certificates shall be held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 29, 30 & 31. 

The advisory said that number of participants is limited to 30 (20 from MSU and 10 from PAIA). All lecturers are from Kuala Lumpur. 

Total cost of this program is around PhP1-Million and every participant is required to pay a registration fee of PhP20-K, inclusive of food and handouts only. 

Participants shall also shoulder their respective round trip airfare from CDO to KL on March 28 up to April 2.

Deadline for registration will be on Feb. 28. 

This basic training on Islamic banking and finance is a joint project of MSU and ICIFE but negotiated by PAIA. (RSP)


The government created the then Philippine Amanah Bank, now Al-Amanah Islamic Bank of the Philippines, supposedly an Islamic bank to appease the burning sentiment of the Muslims those days to practice their religious beliefs and culture.
