Road Mishap; 2 Troops Dead 9 Injured


Kuta Major Cesar L Sang-An, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – Two Tabak troopers were dead while nine others injured in a road accident in Brgy Lourdes,Pagadian City recently.

In a statement sent to Ranao Star last December 9, 2017, Tabak Division Public Affairs Office said troops from 53rd Infantry Battalion were conducting casualty evacuation of their wounded comrades when the accident occured due to brake malfunction of the military truck they were onboard.

Their wounded comrades had encountered a firefight against the Communist Terrorists at Brgy Gasa, Lakewood.

Dead are; Staff Sergeant Celerino Objero and Staff Sergeant Isgerie V. Papolonias.

Wounded were; Private George A. Bajo, Corporal Darryl Banares, Corporal Rodrigo D Castillo, Corporal Melvin C Colobong, Private First Class Jayson C. de Guzman, Sergeant Benjakar s. Kasim, Sergeant Roberto F. Rojas Francisco, Corporal Crisaldo C Tan and CAA Romelson P. Tasa.

“Our deepest symphaty and condolences to the families of the hero soldiers. Rest assured that the benefits will be given to bereaved families and the wounded soldiers will be taken cared of,” said Brig. General Roseller Murillo, Commander, 1st Infantry Division. (Tabak-DPAO)
