DTI-Lanao del Norte to showcase Maranao products in December

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Lanao del Norte will showcase an exhibit of Maranao products in Iligan City in December with the aim of helping Marawi evacuees augment income and stand again.

The planned fair or exhibit of Maranao products was discussed during the visit here of DTI Assistant Secretary Abdulgani Macatoman for a meeting with businessmen and other internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the Marawi Siege Saturday.


Macatoman said he is also inviting IDPs who have Maranao products to sell like Togaya products to coordinate with his office in order to help them sell their products at DTI national office in Manila.

The DTI assistant secretary said his office will provide free transportation in bringing their products to Manila and that they will also help in selling them.


"This is one way to help our brothers who are victims of the Marawi Siege to stand again," he said.

Director Ruel B. Paclipan told Ranao Star that the Fair or Exhibit will accommodate IDPs as a priority to sell their products that may include Maranao delicacies such as amik, dodol, tiadtag, and Maranao culturally designed handicrafts such as wave products and the like.


Paclipan said DTI-Lanao del Norte will screen the products to be displayed during the exhibit.

All those who have products a
to exhibit from Monday through Saturday are advised to register with the DTI-Lanao del Norte office, said Paclipan.

Paclipan said: "DTI will announce the final date of the exhibit in Ranao Star Philippines, or you can direct your inquiry to DTI Lanao del Norte office with the address at 137 Quezon Avenue Extension, Iligan City." (RSP)
