Secretary Kahal Kidtag of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DENR-ARMM) and Anwar Upham, executive director of ARMM’s H.E.L.P.S. attended a consultation forum on People’s Response and Resiliency against Disaster: Mainstreaming of the Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP) Consultation Proper held recently at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Hotel here.

It was said that Kidtag was official representative of ARMM while Upahm came in private capacity as he accompanied friend Yusoph Muhammad, Greens PH Mindanao leader, who was apparently head of the Mindanao delegation.

Some asked why there was no other representative from Mindanao attending the meeting. They asked, "Was there no other from Mindanao interested in the effect of climate change when the area was hit by the Sendong and other devastating natural disaster?"

Apparently, only four or five Maguindanaons comprised the Mindanao delegation including its apparent leader Muhammad to the meeting whose participants were provided plane tickets and convenient transportation and billeted in a very class hotel.

Conducted by the Climate Change Commission (CCC) in liaison with GREENS PH Partido Kalikasan and Green Governance of the Philippines Inc., the consultation was graced by no less than Secretary Emmanuel De Guzman, CCC Executive Director, by opening the program in the morning and by welcoming the participants in the afternoon.

It was also attended by different personalities from some parts ofthe country concerned with the environment and climate change. TNRS
