Stakeholders seek increase of power supply allocation

Concern for possible failure of elections comes May 2016, electric power stakeholders in Marawi City and Lanao del Sur and parts of Lanao del Norte asked power suppliers of Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative (Lasureco) to increase its power allocation to ensure that there will be no brownouts until the elections period that may result to failure of elections.



Task Force Lasureco (TFL) held a meeting in its compound at Maliwanag here last Thursday, January 21, with a theme “Electrification before Election Day” on January 21, 2016.

TFL acting general manager Solaiman Mutia led the meeting which was attended by Samera Gutoc-Tomawis, former Cong. Jun Macarambon, PNP Provincial Director Ramos, 103rd Brigade Commander representative Major Osop, PNP Chief Laming, Abdulrahman Taher, TFL staffs, group/members and other private sectors.

GM. Mutia started the meeting with the presentation of the status of 69/13.2/706 KV LINES in Marantao to Tugaya area, where he discussed briefly the situation of building posts in the areas to make sure that there will be no power interruption in the day of 2016 election. 

According to GM Mutia, out of 86 posts were 65% or 56 posts dressed up, 45% or 39 posts completed and 35% or 30 posts were on going to build as of January 20, 2016. March 31, 2016 is the target completion of the posting and on April 15, 2016 is the target inauguration of the said project of TFL. While the Repair of 13.2/7.6 KV Line from Ganasi to Bayang, Calanogas to Kapatagan, and Malabang to Picong, the Rehabilitation of Ganassi, Pualas and Bayang in 13.2 KV Lines is under way and the expected to completion is on March 31, 2016 and the expected inauguration is on April 15, 2016.

Tugaya substitution installation of 10 MVA power transformers, on present status was in contractor under negotiation to install 10 MVA at Lasureco headquarters with the target completion on February 15, 2016 and April 15, 2016 is the target inauguration.
Cong. Macarambon suggested to inform the consumers on how/when the meters ran in accordance to the electric they consume and discuss how it happen to let the people know the real reason why their payment were getting high.
After the presentation, they give a chance to the other sectors to share their ideas or suggestions for the betterment of the electricity consumers and the Task Force Lasureco, then after that they gave them a chance ask a question for their concern on their place about electricity. 

GM Mutia’s state that he will do his best together with his staff/members to finish the said projects before May 2016 election. He also mentioned that August to September 2016 must be the election for TFL board of Directors.

During the meeting, stakeholders representing multi-sectors agreed to seek for the increase of power supply allocation from suppliers.
