Forum on Role of Women in Peace, Security Held

MARAWI CITY – A Workeshop/Consultative Forum on the Role of Women in Peace and Security was held at Manican Mansion Function Hall, here recently.

The activity was opened by Ms. Amina Rasul-Bernardo, President of Philippine Center for Peace and Democracy who discussed the background on Pro Politics for Peace and Rational of the Workshop.

Peace and Security was discussed by Prof. Moner Bajunaid, Secretary General of the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy.

Ms. Samira Gutoc-Tomawis, Convenor of Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy, spoke on the Role of Women in Peace and Security.


After the discussion of the said topics an Open Forum was done.

It was followed by a workshop guided by Prof. Moner Bujanaid on the Role of Women in Peace and Security.

Towards the end of the session, participants came up with action plans on how to actualize the identified roles of Women in peace and Security.

The event was organized by Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy in cooperation with Institute for Autonomy and Governance, Local Government Development Foundation and ZABIDA and with the support of PRO POLITICS for PEACE and Australian Aid. – The New Ranao Star –
