Dateline Iligan. City Ends Traffic Experiment

After a one-month traffic experiment, passenger jeeps are back to their usual routes, the City Information Office reported July 23.

The ending of the said traffic experiment was based on a Resolution passed during the regular session of the SangguniangPanlungsod on the same day, the report added.

Acting Vice-Mayor ProvidencioAbragan, Jr., Chairman of the SP Committee on Traffic Management and Transportation reportedly said that they have gathered all the data and information needed in the conduct of a study on whether or not a “one-way routing” be implemented downtown.

He also said that data gathered during the experiment shall be analyzed by traffic experts in the academe.

He emphasized, however, that any changes in the traffic flow shall be implemented in accordance with the Traffic Code of Iligan and the convenience of the public.

It was reported that during the public hearing conducted by the Committee on Traffic Management and Communication last week, many suggestions came out and among this was that of restoring the usual routes. The New Ranao Star
