MPC GIVES GIFTS TO PINDUGANGAN SCHOOL CHILDREN

ILIGAN CITY, December 15 -- Mapalad Power Corporation (MPC) whose Power Plant virtually solved the problem of brownouts in the service area of Iligan Light and Power Inc. (ILPI) last August 2013 distributed early Christmas Gifts to the pupils of Francisco Ll. Laya Memorial Integrated School in Sitio Pindugangan, Barangay Tipanoy, Iligan City last December 13.

MPC Plant Manager Ruben Ramilo told the New Ranao Star that they held the activity in cooperation with the Spiritans of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit C.S. Sp. Philippines who has a mission in Pindugangan.

In his message to the schoolchildren, parents and teachers, he said, “Christmas is for kids and we are privilege to be part of this activity.”

Ramilo was accompanied by his wife and a group of MPC employees.

The theme of the Program was, “Pasko sa Kalipay: Si Jesus ang Among Kalipay.” (Christmas of Happiness: Jesus is our Happiness).

Mrs. Susan Pirante, the School Principal welcomed all the visitors and thanked MPC and all the donors that made their Christmas colorful and meaningful.

Reverend Father Henri Medjo Mvomo, C.S. Sp gave a Christmas message to the crowd.

Before the gift-giving the school children had several dance and choral presentations and parlor games that made the affair joyful.

The gifts distributed by MPC consisted of bags and school supplies.

A white man clad in Santa Claus outfit distributed candies to the children.

Rev. Fr. Leo Aghene Illah, C.S. Sp closed the program and led the closing prayer shortly before lunch.

Finally, the parents, teachers and children partook with a sumptuous lunch that they community prepared, as the Mapalad Officials and employees departed.
