DILG installs Marzo acting city mayor

ILIGAN CITY – March 27 - After serving here today the Decision of the Office of the President suspending Mayor Celso G. Regencia for Abuse of Authority, representatives of that office and Regional Office 10 let Vice Mayor Roderic C. Marzo take the Oath of Office as Acting City Mayor before Judge Alberto Quinto whom they brought all the way from Cagayan de Oro City. 

Marzo shall serve as Acting City Mayor of Iligan until the end of the penalty of 6-month suspension from office imposed on Regencia.

It was reported, however, that Marzo will hold office temporarily at the ABC Hall since Regencia would not step down from office until his petition for a Temporary Restraining Order before the Court of Appeals.

Regencia did not receive his suspension personally since he was not around when the servers arrived but a copy of the said suspension was posted on a wall at the entrance of the City Hall.
